Italian and German pharmaceutical business formed when Rottapharm of Monza bought the German company Madaus in 2007, selling prescription medicines, consumer health products and herbal preparations across Europe. Known for glucosamine and chondroitin preparations for joint disease, gynaecological and gastrointestinal products and plant based medicines, with manufacturing in Italy, Germany and Ireland, it was bought by Meda in 2014 and now sits within Viatris.
