Indian deemed university at Thirumalaisamudram near Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, founded in 1984 and given deemed status in 2001. Teaches pharmaceutical technology, bioengineering, biotechnology and chemical engineering through its school of chemical and biotechnology alongside its other schools, runs laboratories for formulation, analysis and biomaterials, and carries out research with Indian industry and national funding.
