Tanabe Research Laboratories

American research subsidiary of the Japanese company Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma, set up at La Jolla in San Diego in the early 1990s. Worked first on small molecule medicines for metabolic and inflammatory disease, was cut back in 2010 after the merger that created Mitsubishi Tanabe and reopened later that year with a focus on antibodies and other biological medicines for autoimmune disease, including antibody drug conjugate work licensed to MedImmune.
