Egyptian public university in Tanta, Gharbia governorate, founded in 1972 out of an earlier branch of Alexandria University. Runs faculties of pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, nursing, science, engineering, agriculture, commerce, law and education with the Tanta University Hospitals, and its Faculty of Pharmacy teaches pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy, microbiology and pharmacology with research in drug analysis, formulation and natural products.
