German technical university at Dortmund in North Rhine-Westphalia, founded in 1968 with an emphasis on chemistry and chemical engineering. Teaches chemistry, chemical biology, biochemical and chemical engineering alongside its other faculties, works closely with the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology and the Leibniz institute for analytical sciences on the same campus, and carries out research in chemical biology, synthesis, catalysis, process engineering and analytical methods.
