American private university in Fort Worth, Texas, founded in 1873 and affiliated with the Christian Church. Teaches through the Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine, the Harris College of Nursing and Health Sciences with nursing, nutrition, kinesiology and speech and hearing programmes, and the College of Science and Engineering with chemistry, biochemistry and biology, and carries out research in medicinal chemistry, biomedical sciences and health outcomes with its own laboratories.
