Japanese national research university in Sendai, Miyagi prefecture, founded in 1907 as the third imperial university and one of the country's leading research institutions. Its Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences teach the six year pharmacy course and the pharmaceutical sciences course, with research in organic and medicinal chemistry, molecular pharmacology, drug metabolism and clinical pharmacy, supported by the university hospital and its medical megabank genomic research organisation.
