Research and development centre of Torrent Pharmaceuticals at Bhat near Gandhinagar in Gujarat, opened in the 1990s and known for its passive downdraught cooling building. Runs discovery chemistry and biology, formulation development, analytical research and process chemistry for the company's generic and new drug programmes, supports regulatory filings for Indian and export markets, and works with Indian and international academic partners.
