Universitat Rovira i Virgili

Spanish public university at Tarragona in Catalonia, created in 1991 out of the Tarragona faculties of the University of Barcelona and named after the Catalan philologist Antoni Rovira i Virgili, with campuses across the province. Teaches medicine, nursing, biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry, food science and nutrition, chemical engineering and psychology alongside law, economics and the humanities, works with the Joan XXIII university hospital and the Pere Virgili health research institute, and carries out research in toxicology and environmental health, food science and chemical engineering with its own laboratories and a well known toxicology and environmental health research centre.
