Université Blaise Pascal

French public university at Clermont-Ferrand, created in 1976 when the older university of the city was divided, named after the mathematician and philosopher Blaise Pascal and covering science, technology, letters and human sciences. Taught chemistry, biology, physics and engineering with laboratories run jointly with the national research bodies on organic chemistry, materials and volcanology, and merged with the Université d'Auvergne in 2017 to form the Université Clermont Auvergne.
