On July 7, the Asan Social Welfare Foundation, chaired by Jeong Mong‑jun, said it had transferred a relief fund of $200,000 to assist victims of the recent floods in Nepal. The money was handed over to the Korean Red Cross, which will use it for emergency relief such as food, daily necessities, and medical support, as well as for helping residents return to normal life.
The foundation has a history of providing aid after large‑scale disasters abroad; in 2023 it sent $400,000 through the Korean Red Cross for recovery after the Turkey‑Syria earthquake, and it also contributed aid in 2022.
