Biografie

‎Chidimma is a Lecturer in the Chemistry Unit, Department of Science Laboratory Technology, Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Unwana, Afikpo, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. His research interests span two principal domains: environmental chemistry and pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry, reflecting a commitment to addressing both ecological and human health challenges through rigorous scientific inquiry. ‎ ‎In the field of environmental chemistry, his work focuses on the ecotoxicological assessment of heavy metals in floodplain and agricultural soil systems, with particular attention to contamination indices, risk characterization, and the long-term implications of metal accumulation for ecosystem and human health. His pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry research encompasses the investigation of bioactive plant-derived compounds, integrating in vivo experimental models with in silico computational approaches to evaluate therapeutic potential. ‎ ‎His scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed publications in reputable international journals. Notable among these are a 2024 study on the ecotoxicological risks of heavy metals in floodplain sediments, published in Scientific African (Elsevier), and a 2026 investigation into the anti-ulcer potential of Crassocephalum crepidioides using combined in vivo and in silico models, published in the Tropical Journal of Pharmaceutical Research. ‎ ‎Chidimma holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Chemistry from Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, Nigeria, and a Master of Science degree in Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
