I am a board-certified physician specializing in Occupational and Environmental Medicine from the University of Guadalajara, with an international postgraduate degree in Toxicology and a Master of Health Sciences from the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN). I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Toxicological Sciences at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV) of the National Polytechnic Institute. I serve as Head of the Toxicology and Environmental Health Department at the Coordination of Occupational Health of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), where I oversee the national network of occupational and environmental health laboratories and coordinate the evaluation processes of workplace chemical contaminants. I am a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) and part of the faculty and research registry of the Inter-American Center for Social Security Studies (CIESS). I contribute to the training of residents in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at IMSS and master’s students at the National Institute of Public Health (INSP). My professional experience focuses on occupational toxicology and the identification and control of chemical and physical hazards in the workplace. I have coordinated national projects on toxicological and environmental surveillance, as well as international collaborations with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the University of Colorado, addressing the prevention of heat stress and other emerging risks related to climate change.
