I am a Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Science at Lincoln University, where I teach undergraduates. My teaching spans core biomedical science disciplines and I am deeply committed to designing learning experiences that are both rigorous and accessible for the next generation of health professionals. My research interests lie at the intersection of infectious disease, infection prevention and control (IPC) and health systems strengthening. I am particularly interested in how gaps in IPC practice contribute to the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance, and in evidence-based approaches to building more resilient healthcare systems in resource variable settings, work that I believe must connect laboratory science to real-world health outcomes. Alongside my teaching and research, I supervise students on industrial training placements in medical laboratory settings, an aspect of my role I find especially rewarding. I am passionate about scholarship that bridges biomedical science and public health, with the ultimate goal of improving patient safety and health equity.
