Biografie

I was born in Tianjin, China, and began my academic journey in Pharmaceutical Science at Tianjin University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree under the supervision of Prof. Ken Woycechowsky. My undergraduate research focused on developing innovative methods for protein purification, which sparked my enduring interest in proteins. Subsequently, I pursued a PhD at King’s College London under the guidance of Dr. Manuel Mueller, focusing on protein chemistry and studying how subtle backbone post-translational modifications (PTMs) could modulate protein structure and function. Following my PhD, I joined the Francis Crick Institute as a postdoctoral researcher under the mentorship of Prof. Ed Tate. My work there centered on high-throughput screening, structural biology, and drug discovery. My research interests always lie in understanding the fundamental principles of how proteins work. By combining structural and biochemical approaches, I aim to uncover molecular insights into protein mechanisms. I am passionate about leveraging these insights to advance drug discovery and develop innovative biotechnological solutions that address challenges in health and disease.
