Valeria Kleandrova is the holder of an Engineering Degree in Technology of Fermentative Production and Wine Industry (2010), from the Moscow State University of Food Production (currently known as Russian Biotechnological University), Moscow, Russia; this academic degree has been already recognized (with the corresponding grade conversion certificate) by the University of Porto, Portugal. Valeria is a dedicated researcher with a strong academic and professional background in computational and applied chemistry. She is currently a Collaborator Researcher at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto, Portugal (since July 2023). Previously, she held research positions at Moscow State University of Food Production (2019–2023) and conducted long-term research stays as a junior researcher at the University of Porto (2011–2016) and the University of Santiago de Compostela (2010–2014), working closely with leading scientists in computational chemistry, applied physics, and pharmaceutical sciences. Her research excellence is reflected in 51 peer-reviewed scientific publications indexed in Scopus, including 47 scientific articles, as well as several book chapters and international conference papers; such a research output has translated into an h-index of 26 and more than 2000 citations. Her work has been recognized by the Royal Society of Chemistry, with a co-authored article ranking among the top 10% most cited articles in Molecular Biosystems (2011–2012 citation window). Her studies integrate chemoinformatics, perturbation-theory machine learning (PTML) modeling, and nanoinformatics, which are applied to scientific areas such as bioactive molecule discovery, pesticide science, and nanomaterials. With a strong international research network, coupled with her proficiency in several languages (Russian, English, Spanish, and Portuguese), Valeria has collaborated with scientists from Portugal, Spain, the USA, China, Brazil, Ecuador, and Cuba. Her long-term research stays in Portugal and Spain have allowed her to become deeply integrated into their academic and scientific communities, gaining firsthand experience with state-of-the-art research methodologies and priorities. She has also recently served as a journal reviewer for journals such as Discover Oncology, Molecular Diversity, Journal of Cheminformatics, and Discover Artificial Intelligence. This international perspective, combined with her adaptability, interdisciplinary expertise, and strong teamwork skills, makes her a valuable contributor to cutting-edge research. Valeria’s research experience and interests are aligned with two United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, namely particularly Good Health and Well-Being (Goal #3) and Responsible Consumption and Production (Goal #12).
