Vinitha P is a biotechnologist, educationist, environmentalist, and zoologist from Tamil Nadu, India. She holds an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), along with a B.Sc. in Zoology and a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT). Her multidisciplinary academic background spans core and applied life sciences, including molecular biology, nanobiotechnology, microbiology, immunology, environmental biology, and clinical diagnostic sciences. She has developed strong training in laboratory-based experimental techniques, scientific methodology, data interpretation, and applied biotechnology research. Her primary research interests are in nanobiotechnology, green synthesis of nanomaterials, biomedical applications of nanoparticles, drug delivery systems, and environmentally sustainable biosynthesis approaches. She has worked extensively on smart drug delivery systems, particularly focusing on pH-sensitive chitosan nanoparticles encapsulating pyrogallol, designed for targeted delivery applications. This research involved evaluating pH-responsive controlled release mechanisms and investigating potential anticancer activity, highlighting her interest in advanced nanocarrier systems for biomedical applications. She has also contributed to green nanotechnology research, including the plant-mediated synthesis of iron oxide (Fe₂O₃) nanoparticles. This work focused on eco-friendly synthesis methods using plant extracts as reducing and stabilizing agents, followed by physicochemical characterization and antimicrobial activity assessment. The study contributes to sustainable nanomaterial development and explores their potential applications in combating microbial resistance and biomedical usage. In addition, she has developed Mg–Zn nanocomposites through plant-based biosynthesis techniques, aiming to optimize their physicochemical and functional properties for biomedical applications. This research aligns with the growing field of biocompatible nanocomposites for therapeutic, antimicrobial, and material science applications, emphasizing the integration of green chemistry principles in nanomaterial design and development. Her undergraduate research project focused on bioluminescence systems involving luciferin–luciferase reactions, where she studied the biochemical mechanisms responsible for natural light emission in living organisms. This work explored the biological and chemical basis of bioluminescence and its potential applications in molecular diagnostics, biosensors, and bioimaging technologies, providing foundational understanding in molecular bioanalytical systems. Beyond her research contributions, Vinitha P is actively engaged in science education, academic outreach, and environmental awareness initiatives. She has delivered free science education through her YouTube channel “V Education”, where she develops structured academic content aimed at simplifying complex scientific topics for students in an accessible and understandable format. Her initiative focuses on reducing educational barriers by providing free learning resources, particularly in life sciences and biotechnology-related subjects, thereby supporting student communities in academic growth and exam preparation. She also manages the YouTube channel “Dr Wolfy live”, where she is widely known as “Wolfy” within her digital audience community. Through this platform, she engages in educational communication and interactive content sharing, further strengthening her role in digital science outreach and student engagement. In addition to her academic and digital educational work, she has served as the Student Secretary of the International Eco Club under the Nature Science Foundation, Coimbatore, where she actively contributed to environmental awareness programs, scientific outreach activities, student coordination, and eco-focused initiatives. Her role involved promoting sustainability awareness, organizing student-driven environmental events, and supporting science-based community engagement programs. She is the daughter of B. Pasam (father) and Vijaya K (mother). Her long-term vision is to contribute significantly to advanced research in biotechnology, nanomedicine, and environmental sustainability. She also aims to integrate scientific research with education and public outreach, strengthening the bridge between academic science and society through interdisciplinary research, digital platforms, and science communication initiatives.
