Dr. Wei Gao is a visionary leader, innovator, and mentor in polymer and analytical science, globally recognized for her contributions to polymer chemistry, nanoparticle characterization, and sustainable material development. With over two decades of R&D experience, she has pioneered analytical techniques that advance fundamental research, product development, manufacturing and process optimization, and quality control across industries, including waterborne coatings, home and personal care, silicone resins, foam control additives, electronic materials, drug excipients and delivery, biopharma, water treatment, oil & gas recovery, and sustainable materials. She is also deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of scientific leaders. Academic and Professional Background Dr. Gao holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry and Physics, specializing in functional polymers and copolymers such as polyesters, acrylates, polyurethane, silicon, polyols, polysaccharide derivatives, and polyolefins. Her research integrates fundamental polymer science with practical applications, driving high-performance and sustainable product innovation. Throughout her career, she has advanced separation-based polymer and nanoparticle characterization, refining methodologies such as GPC (SEC), GPC/AFFFF-MALS, HPLC, 2D-LC, AFFFFxCE, and LC-MS to provide critical insights into polymer structure and functionality. Beyond the chemical industry, her expertise has directly influenced pharmaceutical formulation, supporting drug excipient characterization and process optimization at Dow, Pfizer, and Bausch + Lomb.
