From 2014 to 2020 she was a "Ramón y Cajal" researcher and from 2020 to 2024 "Profesor Titular de Universidad" at the same University. She graduated in Chemistry in 2001 (awarded Extraordinary Prize) at the Complutense University (Madrid, Spain), where she carried out her Ph.D. (2002-2005) on dynamic and equilibrium properties of fluid interfaces under the supervision of Prof. Rubio. In 2005 she worked at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces (Germany) with Prof. Miller on the rheological characterization of water-soluble polymers. During 2006-2008 she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Physical Chemistry Institute of the RWTH-Aachen University (Germany), where she worked on the layer-by-layer assembly of polyelectrolyte multilayers onto thermoresponsive microgels. Then she moved to the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology (Madrid, Spain) and participated in a Canada-Spain joint project to develop carbon nanotube (CNT)-reinforced epoxy and polyetheretherketone composites for transport applications. She has participated in 31 research projects (15 International, 13 National, 3 with private companies, being principal investigator of 8 of them). She has published over 250 SCI articles (97% in Q1 journals). She has an H index of 53 and more than 10000 total citations. More than 50% of her articles are in journals with an impact factor ≥4.8 such as J. Mater. Chem, Carbon, J. Phys. Chem. C. She is the first and corresponding author of 2 invited reviews in Prog. Mater. Sci. She is a frequent reviewer for ACS, MDPI and Elsevier journals. She has published 31 book chapters, 2 monographies and edited 8 books, and is the first author of an international patent. She has contributed to 84 international conferences (71 oral communications including 13 by invitation) and has been a member of the organizing committee in 3 workshops and 1 national meeting. She was invited to impart seminars at prestigious international research centres (i.e. Max Planck in Germany, NRC in Canada, School of Materials (Manchester, UK). She was been awarded the TR35 2012 prize by the Massachusetts Technological Institute (MIT) for her innovative work in the field of nanotechnology. She is member of the editorial board of 5 journals, 3 of them in Q1, in the field of polymer science, materials science and nanotechology. She is editor in Chief of the Journal Macromol (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/macromol). She is member of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry since 2008. In 2021, she was selected as member of the Spanish Young Academy. Experience as evaluator: 26 projects for EU-funded programmes. National Expert Evaluator of the COST Actions in the Material Science Area. Participation in 8 review panels in Brussels. Evaluation of over 50 projects for international agencies including FNP, SNSF, GACR, RIF, RCN, PSF, RCF.
