I am currently a Research Fellow at School of Biosciences, University of Birmingham, mainly working with the development and implementation of computational methods for the risk assessment of food-related chemicals. I also have experience as a Cheminformatician, being able to handle and apply cutting-edge ligand- and structure-based drug discovery approaches to multiple aims, including computational toxicology. I also have been investigating the kinomes of Schistosoma spp., Leishmania spp, and Plasmodium spp., combining molecular modeling and bioinformatics, and cheminformatics techniques to search for new relevant biological targets and new chemical entities to treat the diseases caused by the mentioned parasites.
