Senior director

Dr. Biao Lu was born and raised at Feidong, a small city in Anhui, east China. He received his B.S and M.S from Lanzhou University in 1999 and 2002, and then he took three years to pursue his Ph.D in Fudan University. His doctorial research focused on some copper catalysed Ullmann reactions under supervision of Prof. Dawei Ma. After his graduation, he worked in Shanghai institute of Organic chemistry as an assistant researcher for a short time and then he moved to University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center as a postdoctorial researcher in Prof. J. R Falck’s Lab, where he developed some new iridium catalysis on C-H functionalization and learned medicinal chemistry during 2007—2009. Next, he came to Santa Barbara, California, to join Prof. Liming Zhang group, where he developed many important gold catalysis reactions. In June 2011, he became a group leader in medicinal chemistry at Hengrui Pharmaceutical Co. , dedicating 11 years to small molucule drug discovery. Starting in 2022, he transitioned to Changchun Genescience Pharmaceutical Co as the senior director of medicinal chemistry. His research encompasses the fields of oncology, metabolic disorders and autoimmune diseases.
