Mbeb Claudine Ngweni is a student at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) currently enrolled in a Master of Pharmaceutical science degree. She was born at Bumunkumbit in the North West region of Cameroon on 3rd April 1992. From 1997 to 2005, she attended primary school at Government Primary School Bamunkumbit where she obtained the First School Leaving Certificate. From 2005 to 2011 she attended both secondary and high school in Government Practicing High School Yaounde Cameroon where she obtained General Certificate of Education (GCE) ordinary and advance level in science. Growing up, she has always been interested in medicine, curious to know more about the final product we consume, how it is made, how it should be taken and what happens after we have taken this medicine. So, after high school she decided to write entrance examinations into two medical schools in Cameroon to study pharmacy. She successfully made it into the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences University of Douala where she studied pharmacy for three years (from 2011 to 2014). It was suppose to be a seven years continuous studies (three years Bachelor studies, two years Master studies and two years Doctorate studies) to obtain a doctorate degree in pharmacy but due to language issues (she is an Anglophone but all lectures and examinations were done in French language limiting her understanding) and family decision, she discontinued the studies during the fourth year. The university granted her a Bachelor degree in pharmaceutical sciences for her validated three years. She moved to South Africa in August 2015. From 2015 to 2017, while applying to different universities in South Africa, due to her interest in the pharmaceutical field, she opted for voluntary services at Rapha Pharmacy Yeoville Johannesburg. During her voluntary services she learned more about the available pharmaceutical compounds, most common diseases and treatments options and medicine scheduling and regulation in South African. In addition, she was assisting in quality control and after training with Propharm; she was also assisting in stock capturing and inventories. Further, she was engaged in self-education and assisted patients in the parapharmaceutical sector of the pharmacy. In January 2018, she was accepted into TUT to study B-tech Pharmaceutical Sciences which she successfully completed all modules during that year obtaining a Baccalaureus Technologiae in Pharmaceutical Sciences in December of the same year. She then applied to further her studies and in March 2019, she was accepted in TUT to do a Master of Pharmaceutical Science under the Supervision of Prof. C. Tarirai. The study titled "design, formulation and characterization of particulate delivery system of Lamivudine" which she completed and was awarded a Masters of Pharmaceutical Sciences degree in March 2023. she then enrolled for a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences degree in January 2025 which is ongoing
