in vivo Pharmacologist

Stemming from an initial industry-based career and maturing to an experienced in vivo pharmacologist with fifteen years academic participation, my technical skill set has translated well into the Drug Discovery Unit at Dundee, where both worlds of industry and academia are agglomerated to facilitate the drug discovery pipeline in a truly unique mode. I am well practiced in the infection, treatment, and subsequent bioluminescent imaging of Trypanosoma cruzi mouse models. Including the initial establishment of the extensively humanised mouse (8HUM) imaging/treatment model which utilizes the IVIS Lumina XR. Extensive experience in pharmacokinetic blood sampling (including within a Containment Level 3 facility) in rat, mouse and hamster species. In attempting to bridge a perceived gap between the entwined worlds of art and science, my career has further been extended to participation in various public engagement outreach workshops, both within the immediate locality of Wellcome Trust Life Space and surrounding area of Dundee.
