Research fellowship

I am a Laboratory Biomedicine master graduate from Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. I have wide scientific knowledge of immune response, host-pathogen interactions, cell biology and biomedical sciences. I attended several internships over the past 5 years, both domestic and international, where I improved my laboratory skills under mentorship of great scientists. Acquiring experience in hospital and faculty laboratories, as well as world's leading institutes, such as Pasteur Institute, France, I gained wide spectrum of laboratory skills as well as in-depth knowledge of immunology, genetics, microbiology, hematology, clinical biochemistry and molecular biology. For my master thesis work, titled 'Inflammatory and Fibrotic Effects of Serum Amyloid A and Tenascin C' I recieved an award from a slovenian pharmaceutical company, called Krka award. I will present a poster called Dynamics of SAA receptors expression in mouse embryonic fibroblasts and their signaling at the World Congress on Inflammation (June 2022) from this work. Currently, I am working as a research fellow with dr. Pedro Matos Pereira in the laboratory Intracellular Microbial Infection Biology (IMIB), at ITQB Nova, Portugal, on the project 'Determining the mechanisms of intracellular S. aureus recognition in biomimetic epithelial mammalian cell models of infection' (website: https://www.itqb.unl.pt/research/biology/intracellular-microbial-infection-biology), using cutting-edge technology, such as advanced microscopy approaches and organ-on-a-chip technology.
