Marcus Wang is a third year PhD student studying Chemistry at the University of Cambridge and is currently attached to the research group of Jonathan Goodman. His current research focuses on creating machine learning models that are trained on molecular fingerprints. These models will be used subsequently to predict toxicological endpoints such as hepatotoxicity and carcinogenicity. He is also investigating the use of similarity-based methods in order to better understand the data used for the machine learning models. These techniques can be used to quantify the transferability of machine learning models in order to better understand where and when the models can be applied. Further research on quantitative adverse outcome pathways (qAOPs) is also being carried out.
