Berufliche Zusammenfassung
Dr Pamela Nangmo Kemda is a promising early career researcher. She obtained her Ph.D in April 2019 in Organic Chemistry with a research interest in natural products at the University of Yaoundé I, Cameroon. During her PhD work, she was awarded two research fellowships from DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) in 2015 and OPCW (Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) in 2017 respectively at the University of Heinrich-Heine-Düsseldorf, Germany and at the University of Bourgogne Franche comté, France. Her research interest was focused on the discovery of antimicrobial agents from 'Trichilia monadelpha (Meliaceae)' and its endophytic fungi. In 2017, she was recruited as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Medical Research and Medicinal Plant Studies (IMPM) of the Cameroon State Government. In November 2019, she was promoted to the position of Research Officer. She was Nominated for the AGNES-PAWS Junior Researcher Grant 2021. She is a member of the Cameroon Professional Research Oriented Women Network (CaPROWN), Royal Society of Chemistry as MRSC, Organization of Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) and ABC-DAAD (Cameroon DAAD alumni association). She has co-authored eight peer-reviewed papers. She intends to investigate Cameroonian medicinal plants to combat bacterial infections, which remain a public health problem in Africa.
