Science Advisor

Paul C. Howard, Ph.D., has scientific background in biochemical toxicology, with initial training in biochemistry, and continued training and research experience in in vitro and in vivo toxicology, DNA adduct formation, toxicological mechanisms of action, and conduct of toxicology studies. Dr. Howard also developed state-of-art facilities, and conducted research, in nanoparticle analysis and toxicology, inhalation toxicology, and in vitro and in vivo phototoxicology (FDA/NCTR; 1993-2016). After retiring from full-time service, Dr. Howard has served as a ‘senior science advisor’ (FDA/ORA, 2017-2024; FDA/OCS, 2024-present) utilizing past laboratory and management experiences to advise on research proposals, applications for funding, and documentation of research outcomes (e.g. abstracts, posters, manuscripts, LIBs).
