Brazilian public producer of immunobiologicals, formally the Instituto de Tecnologia em Imunobiológicos of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, created in 1976 on the Manguinhos campus in Rio de Janeiro. Develops, manufactures and supplies vaccines, diagnostic kits and biopharmaceuticals for the Brazilian national immunisation programme and public health system, including yellow fever, measles mumps and rubella, polio and meningococcal vaccines and biological reagents, and exports yellow fever vaccine through United Nations agencies.
