American private university at Rexburg in Idaho, run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, founded in 1888 as Bannock Stake Academy, long known as Ricks College and made a four year university in 2001. Teaches through colleges including physical sciences and engineering with chemistry, biochemistry and biomedical engineering, and health and human performance with nursing, public health and health science, and runs pre-professional routes into medicine, pharmacy and dentistry with undergraduate research in chemistry and the life sciences.
