DuPont Critical Care

Critical care business of the American chemical company DuPont, based in Illinois, which made intravenous solutions and plasma volume expanders for hospital use. Its best known product was Hespan, a six per cent hetastarch solution in sodium chloride used to treat hypovolaemia and to support plasma volume in surgery and trauma, and the business also supplied related infusion and critical care products before DuPont left pharmaceuticals.
