Fluminense Federal University

Brazilian federal university with its main campus at Niterói across the bay from Rio de Janeiro, founded in 1960 and one of the largest federal universities in the country, with further campuses in the interior of the state. Teaches pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, nursing, biomedicine, veterinary medicine and chemistry among its courses, runs the Antônio Pedro university hospital for clinical teaching and trials, and carries out research in pharmaceutical sciences, natural products, toxicology and public health with its own laboratories and postgraduate programmes.
