George Mason University

American public research university at Fairfax in Virginia, founded in 1949 as a branch of the University of Virginia and independent since 1972, the largest public university in the state with campuses at Arlington, Science and Technology in Manassas and Fairfax. Teaches through the College of Public Health, the College of Science with biology, chemistry and biochemistry and neuroscience and the College of Engineering and Computing with bioengineering, and carries out research at the Institute for Biohealth Innovation, the Center for Applied Proteomics and Molecular Medicine and the Biomedical Research Laboratory, a high containment facility for infectious disease work.
