American non-profit research institute at Research Triangle Park in North Carolina, formed when the Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology was renamed in the two thousands and closed in 2015. Carried out research in chemical and drug safety, computational and systems toxicology, dose response and pharmacokinetic modelling and lung and liver toxicity, hosted institutes for chemical safety sciences and drug safety sciences, and trained postdoctoral toxicologists.
