Spanish drug research institute and foundation at the Autonomous University of Madrid, named after the nineteenth century pharmacologist Teófilo Hernando. Carries out research and development of medicines, with work on neuroprotection, calcium channels and compounds for neurodegenerative disease, provides pharmacology and toxicology services and consulting to companies, publishes on pharmacotherapy and runs training courses for drug development professionals.
