Jordanian comprehensive cancer centre in Amman, opened in 1997 on the site of the earlier Al-Amal Center and named after King Hussein, the only specialist cancer hospital in the region accredited by the Joint Commission International and a World Health Organization collaborating centre. Treats adult and paediatric cancer patients from Jordan and across the Middle East with medical, surgical and radiation oncology, bone marrow transplantation and palliative care, runs an oncology pharmacy with sterile chemotherapy preparation and hosts an office of scientific affairs and research that conducts clinical trials.
