Iranian government organisation under the Ministry of Education, founded in 1976 and reconstituted after the revolution, which identifies academically gifted pupils through national entrance examinations and runs the Farzanegan schools for girls and Shahid Beheshti and Allameh Helli schools for boys across the country. Its graduates supply a large share of entrants to Iranian medical, pharmacy and engineering faculties.
