Faculty of sciences of the Universidade da Beira Interior at Covilhã in Portugal, part of a university created in 1986. Teaches chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, mathematics and physics with master's and doctoral programmes, and carries out research through the Health Sciences Research Centre and chemistry units on medicinal chemistry and drug delivery, natural products, biochemistry and analytical chemistry, working with the university's faculty of health sciences and the region's hospitals.
