Universidade de Coimbra

Portuguese public university at Coimbra, founded in 1290 and one of the oldest in continuous operation in the world, with its historic buildings recognised by UNESCO. Teaches through faculties of pharmacy, medicine, sciences and technology with chemistry and biology, and law, economics and letters, works with the Coimbra university hospital centre for clinical teaching, and carries out research in pharmaceutical technology and pharmacology, medicinal and analytical chemistry, neuroscience and cell biology with its own centres and laboratories.
