USDA-ARS Bee Research Laboratory

Research laboratory of the United States Department of Agriculture at the Beltsville agricultural research centre in Maryland, which studies honey bees. Works on bee diseases and parasites including varroa mites and viruses, on the effects of pesticides and nutrition on colonies, on breeding stock for disease resistance and on diagnostic services for beekeepers and regulators, and keeps a national bee disease diagnostic service.
