The CAR‑T therapy Rimkato (Anbalcapatgen Autolyscel), the first such product developed in South Korea, has passed the threshold of the Drug Reimbursement Evaluation Committee, bringing it one step nearer to health‑insurance coverage. After receiving approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in April, Rimkato underwent the reimbursement procedure. Although it initially faced a setback at an oncology disease review committee, it succeeded in a re‑examination and was conditionally recognized as appropriate for reimbursement by the evaluation committee. On the 3rd, the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service convened the 9th Drug Reimbursement Evaluation Committee (2026) to assess the appropriateness of coverage for the drug and the expansion of usage under risk‑sharing contracts. Rimkato confirmed its suitability pending acceptance of the evaluation amount.
