Kyungdong Pharmaceutical announced that it, together with Aul Bio, has submitted an Investigational New Drug (IND) application to the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) for the phase‑1 clinical trial of AUL009.
AUL009 is a long‑acting injectable formulation of semaglutide, an obesity‑treatment agent, incorporating Aul Bio’s ExTenna™ drug‑delivery platform to enable sustained release.
The new formulation aims to extend the current weekly dosing schedule of semaglutide to a once‑monthly regimen, reducing patient injection burden and enhancing treatment convenience and adherence.
