I am a Biomedical Scientist (Immunologist) with a strong background in diagnostics, translational research, and healthcare innovation. My career has focused on implementing technologies that improve the monitoring and management of disease conditions, with the aim of preventing disease progression and reducing the burden on patients and healthcare systems. I currently work at TestCard Ltd, where I play a leading role in the scaling and evaluation of digital diagnostics platforms, supporting their adoption and use in home, community, and primary care settings. My expertise spans immunology, point-of-care testing, study design, and clinical validation. I bring both scientific and project leadership skills, combining my laboratory background with experience working at the interface of industry and healthcare to coordinate multidisciplinary teams. My research interests centre on technology-assisted solutions that address pressing challenges in health and care: - Prevention of disease progression: Validating and evaluating diagnostic tools that support early intervention, helping to prevent both infectious and chronic conditions from progressing into complex multi-morbidity. - Digital integration of diagnostics: Using secure digital platforms to record, analyse and share diagnostic results directly with healthcare systems, removing delays and errors linked to traditional paper- or lab-based processes. In addition to my scientific expertise, I have gained extensive experience in research project delivery. I have been responsible for: Study design and validation: Ensuring diagnostic tools are tested against gold-standard laboratory methods. - Methodological input: Developing robust protocols for studies and usability assessments. - Data management and analysis: Overseeing collection, quality assurance, and interpretation of clinical data. - Governance and compliance: Ensuring projects meet ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and Good Clinical Practice. - Collaboration and stakeholder engagement: Working with healthcare partners, clinical teams, and patient representatives to ensure studies are relevant, inclusive, and aligned with system needs. More broadly, I am committed to contributing to the advancement of digital health technologies. I believe that innovation in diagnostics must go hand-in-hand with evidence of clinical value, usability, and cost-effectiveness if it is to achieve real-world impact. My long-term vision is to play a leading role in developing scalable, affordable diagnostic solutions that empower patients, reduce inequalities, and relieve pressures on health and care systems. Professional memberships include the Institute of Biomedical Science. This professional affiliation supports my ongoing development and ensures I remain closely connected to advances in biomedical science, immunology, and healthcare policy.
