Dr. Vidya Sagar Jerra is a Principal Scientist and Head of the Peptide Research & Development Division at Provis Biolabs, Hyderabad, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry and has over eight years of industrial experience in peptide drug discovery, peptide API process development, and manufacturing. His expertise encompasses solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), solution-phase peptide synthesis, peptide purification, impurity profiling, analytical characterization, process optimization, scale-up, and regulatory support for peptide therapeutics. He has successfully led numerous CRO and CDMO projects involving the development of peptide active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), including cyclic peptides, PEGylated peptides, and long-chain therapeutic peptides from laboratory research to commercial manufacturing. Dr. Jerra's research focuses on medicinal chemistry, peptide therapeutics, antimicrobial peptides, antibiotic resistance, anticancer drug discovery, computational drug design, and sustainable peptide manufacturing. His work integrates synthetic chemistry, process development, and biological evaluation to accelerate the discovery and translation of peptide-based therapeutics. He has authored peer-reviewed scientific publications and actively collaborates with academic and industrial partners to develop innovative solutions for unmet medical needs. His long-term research vision is to advance next-generation peptide therapeutics through innovative medicinal chemistry, green synthetic methodologies, and translational pharmaceutical research.
