A graduate of the Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy) with an MSc in Biomedical Engineering (2018), specializing in medical imaging and data processing. I gained practical research experience through a six-month internship at Imperial College London, where I conducted finite element simulations investigating the effects of high-frequency electromagnetic waves on nerve tissue. I completed my PhD at Linköping University (Sweden) in 2023, contributing to the Biomedical Optics research group with a focus on spectral imaging techniques for the diagnosis of skin conditions, including burn wounds, and the development of light scattering models in tissue. In 2024, I worked as a Senior Research Support Specialist at the Biomedical Optics Imaging Lab (BOIL) at Stony Brook University, applying my expertise in spectral imaging to support research in endoscopic cancer detection. Currently, starting in 2025, I am a postdoctoral research fellow within the Biomedical Engineering department at Linköping University. My ongoing research investigates the correlation between microcirculatory alterations associated with systemic illnesses such as diabetes and the incidence of cardiovascular disease.
