6+ years of research experience in toxicology, developmental biology, neurobehavioral biology, reproductive biology, genetics, cell biology, and molecular biology using zebrafish as a model organism. Expertise in microbial and mammalian cell culture, microscopy and molecular biology techniques, assay development, planning and conducting studies for safety assessment of drugs, organic UV filters, fragrances/cosmetics. Focused on alternative toxicology test methods and risk assessment tools to reduce the need for higher animal testing. Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong team player. Strong written and oral communication skills. I have expertise in establishing the zebrafish facility, animal handling (zebrafish, rat and mice) dissection, isolation of blood, bone marrow and visceral organs), microinjection in zebrafish embryos, qRT-PCR (isolation of DNA, RNA, cDNA synthesis, and RT-PCR), ELISA, Western blotting, whole mount immunostaining, in vivo fluorescence & light microscopy, cell isolation from zebrafish larvae and tissues. Image processing software (ImageJ software), gene tools, RT-qPCR data analysis, Primer Blast, and statistical analysis software (SPSS and GraphPad Prism software). During PhD, I was fortunate enough to mentor the 8 undergrad students in the lab in other projects in the group and have the strong skill to work independently as well as in a collaborative manner. I have qualified Joint CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) with All India Ranking AIR - 59 and AIR - 100 for pursuing my PhD. I have attended the 6 international conferences and won the Research Excellence Award for Poster Presentation and also got the First Prize in Oral Presentation from my thesis work.
