Doctor in Chemistry (2009) from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) and Lecture in Inorganic Chemistry (UCM). Coauthor of 58 high-impact publications (h-index=21, WOS) and one patent. Principal Investigator of three research projects: two national projects (2025, 2014) and a regional project (2019). I have been a research team member in ten consecutive national and regional research projects (2004-2024) and I have participated in around 90 national and international conferences (49 oral presentations, 42 poster contributions). I have received three positive evaluations for my research activities (2007-2012; 2013-2018 and 2019-2024). My background research has been developed with recognized Solid-State Chemistry and Microscopy groups. I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Quantum Matter Physics at the University of Geneva, Switzerland (2009-2010) on the structural characterization of ferroelectric materials and at the Laboratory of Condensed Matter Physics at CNRS-University Paris XI, France (2010-2011) training on atomically resolved electron microscopy techniques. During my predoctoral and postdoctoral periods, I benefited from several competitive Individual Contracts/Fellowships, from national (2011-2013) and UCM (2004-2008, 2012-2013) fundings. Currently, in the Functional Inorganic Materials group, my research focuses on the structural and chemical study of functional materials by using atomically resolved imaging and spectroscopy electron microscopy. My research includes transition metal oxides with perovskite-related structure and mixed-anionic compounds exhibiting potential catalytic, optic, and ferroelectric properties. Specifically, I investigate local variations in the oxidation state of transition metals and order/disorder phenomena on fluorinated oxides at the atomic level using high energy resolution EELS spectroscopy and imagine technique. I also collaborate with Prof. D. Portheault (Sorbonne Universtité), Prof. J. Calvino (Universidad de Cádiz), Dr. B. H. Juárez (ICMM) and Dr. Z. Gacevic (UPM), on the structural characterization of a diverse range of functional materials. Since 2017, I held successive teaching positions in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at UCM as an Assistant Professor (2017-2021), Associate Professor (2021-2023) and Lecture Professor since October 2023. I have taught practical and theoretical subjects in the Degrees of Chemistry, Chemistry Engineering, Materials Engineering, Geology as well as in Master courses at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. I have supervised 1 final Master degree and 8 final degree works. I have participated as a teacher in international electron microscopy courses organized by “Universidad de Zaragoza” (2016) and “UCM, Cursos de Verano de El Escorial” (2013, 2016, 2018).
