Dr. Ans Punt is both a Dutch and European Registered Toxicologist (ERT). She obtained her PhD degree with distinction at Wageningen University in 2009 on the development of physiologically based kinetic (PBK) models to explore species differences and human variation in the kinetics of natural plant carcinogens. She continued to work in the of field PBK modelling and new approach methodologies (NAMs) at Wageningen University and Wageningen Food Safety Research (WFSR) and she started as freelance researcher in 2023. The focus of her work is on the use of in vitro and in silico data to develop PBK models and the application of these models in integrated testing strategies. She has experience with different software packages to develop PBK models, including PK-Sim, Berkeley Madonna and R. She has developed various web-applications of PBK models (www.qivivetools.wur.nl, www.feedfoodtransfer.nl).
