Resumen profesional
Davide Benedetto Tiz got his diploma in 2014 in Chemistry and pharmaceutical technology at the University of Trieste (Italy) with the thesis "Synthesis and characterization of novel CK-1 inhibitors" under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Stephanie Federico.
He later completed his PhD at the faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) in 2019 under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Nace Zidar, working on the design and synthesis of antibacterial compounds. His thesis "Discovery of novel N-phenylpyrrolamides as inhibitors of DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV" was awarded by pharmaceutical company KRKA (Novo Mesto). While finishing his PhD he spent five months on ENABLE IMI project synthesising compounds with promising antibacterial activities.
After finishing his PhD he worked at Fidelta, Zagreb (Croatia) as a medicinal chemist.
He later conducted a Postdoctoral research at the University of Pardubice (Czech republic) under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aleš Imramovský. This basic research was focused to prepare new compounds (salicylamide – peptide aldehydes, various epoxides or boronic acids) which should join a large group of proteasome inhibitors.
In 2022 he worked as a PostDoc fellow at University of Perugia, Italy.
Since 2023 he has worked at National Institute of Chemistry, Ljubljana (Slovenia).
01/2024 Researcher at University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Chemistry
