Resumen profesional
Dr. Jagriti Singh is a medicinal chemist and chemical biologist specializing in the design and synthesis of functional small molecules for therapeutic and diagnostic applications. She completed her Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences at the CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (India) under the mentorship of Prof. Atul Goel. Her doctoral research focused on diversity-oriented synthesis, resulting in the development of novel fluorescent probes for bio-imaging and material science applications (OLEDs). Notably, her work on cyanine dyes was translated into an indigenous RT-PCR kit for COVID-19 detection, earning the CDRI Incentive Award for Technology. She also contributed to the discovery of a patented 5-HT2C allosteric modulator for the treatment of obesity. Dr. Singh expanded her expertise as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois Chicago (Prof. Wonhwa Cho’s lab), where she integrated synthetic chemistry with chemical biology. Her work involves developing PROTACs, lipid-binding inhibitors, and fluorescence-quencher-based assays to study cell signaling mechanisms. Her research interests lie at the intersection of chemistry and biology, specifically in the development of next-generation therapeutics and diagnostic tools.
