Emeritus Professor of Toxicology and Environmental Health University of Surrey UK. Previous post held at the University: Reader in Biochemistry, Professor of Toxicology, Dean of Science, Founding Director of the Robens Institute of Industrial and Environmental Health and Safety and subsequently of the European Institute of Health and Medical Sciences. Author or joint author of over 500 papers, reviews. Former chair of EU Scientific committee of Toxicology Ecotoxicology and the Environment followed by the Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks. Member of various UK scientific advisory committees. Lead role in the formation of the British Toxicology Society, the European Drug Metabolism Workshops and the Federation of European Federation of Toxicology Societies (now known as Eurotox).
